[Remote] Sr. AI Solutions Architect — GCP & Agentic Systems
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. USDM Life Sciences is a premier consulting company with over 20 years of experience in the life sciences sector. They are seeking a Sr. AI Solutions Architect to design and deliver production-grade agentic AI pipelines on Vertex AI for pharmaceutical and biotech clients, working closely with Google engineers and client architects.
Responsibilities
- Design and build production agentic orchestration layers on Vertex AI using modular, composable, independently invokable agents
- Deliver GCP pipeline infrastructure using Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, Airflow, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery
- Integrate FHIR Server APIs within enterprise security and data governance controls for pharma and healthcare clients
- Own GCP IAM design, agent identity governance, and log retention architecture for regulated pharmaceutical data environments
- Author to-be technical architecture documentation (D3) covering GCP infrastructure and security
- Lead technical working sessions with client engineering teams and Google engineers, representing USDM's delivery expertise
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal knowledge sharing, reusable assets, and delivery standards
- Support pre-sales and proposal activities with technical scoping and solution design input
Skills
- An active Google Cloud Professional certification (Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, or ML Engineer), current and not lapsed
- A Google Cloud Delivery Readiness Program (DRP) score at the Master tier, demonstrating validated GCP delivery expertise across certifications, skills, and real-world project experience
- Production Vertex AI agentic pipeline experience. You have built and shipped real systems at scale, not demos or proofs of concept
- Hands-on GCP pipeline engineering experience with Dataflow, Beam, Airflow, and BigQuery in production environments
- FHIR Server API integration experience, R4 minimum, built against a real FHIR server in a healthcare or pharma environment
- Experience designing GCP security models including IAM, service account governance, agent identity controls, and log retention in regulated environments
- Production pipeline observability experience including failure handling, retry logic, drift detection, and SLA monitoring
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with both engineering teams and business stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Experience delivering in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or GxP regulated environments
- A background in Google Professional Services or a large global systems integrator with an active GCP practice
- FHIR R5 depth and the ability to hold design-level conversations with FHIR engineers
- Familiarity with large-scale enterprise data environments and multi-tenant cloud architecture
