[Remote] Senior Billing and Coding Compliance Analyst & Educator

University of Virginia is a world-class academic medical center and health system, seeking a Senior Billing and Coding Compliance Analyst & Educator to lead process and policy improvements in medical billing, coding, and compliance. The role focuses on ensuring accurate patient records, regulatory adherence, and financial integrity in healthcare finance.
Responsibilities
- Managing the financial aspects of patient care, including billing, insurance claims, payment processing, financial counseling, utilization and revenue cycle analysis
- Translating patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures into standardized medical codes
- Ensuring accurate coding to support billing processes, comply with regulations, and maintain the integrity of patient health records for reimbursement and reporting purposes
- Leading the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills
- Managing projects or processes, coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower level professionals
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience required
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), AAPC or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), AHIMA, required
- Other similar coding certifications may be considered
