Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Chat Moderator – Community Safety & Engagement Specialist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and health of our official Discord community. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Content Monitoring and Removal: Actively monitor chat channels in the official arenaflex Discord server to identify and promptly remove messages that violate community guidelines, rules, or terms of service.
  • User Accountability and Enforcement: Issue appropriate warnings, mutes, and bans to users who repeatedly or egregiously violate community rules, applying judgment that balances firmness with fairness.
  • Report Investigation: Thoroughly review and investigate user-submitted reports regarding rule violations, harassment, spam, or other inappropriate behavior. Document findings and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • Rule Enforcement Consistency: Apply arenaflex's community guidelines consistently and transparently, ensuring that all members are treated equitably regardless of their background or status within the community.
  • Community Engagement: Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere by participating in conversations, welcoming new members, and encouraging constructive dialogue among community participants.
  • Feedback and Suggestions: Gather feedback from community members and relay insights, trends, and concerns to the arenaflex leadership team to inform policy improvements and community initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of moderation actions, including warnings issued, users muted or banned, and reports investigated. Prepare weekly summaries of community health metrics.
  • Collaboration with Team: Work closely with other moderators, community managers, and arenaflex staff to coordinate responses to emerging issues, develop new community initiatives, and refine moderation strategies.
  • Staying Current: Keep up to date with Discord platform updates, moderation tools, and best practices in online community management to continuously improve the effectiveness of moderation efforts.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for the Remote Chat Moderator position at arenaflex, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age or older to comply with legal and organizational standards.
  • Educational Background: Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Reliable Internet Connection: Must have access to a stable internet connection and a personal computer capable of running Discord and related moderation tools.
  • Availability: Must be able to commit to scheduled moderation shifts, including some evenings and weekends as needed to support community activity.
  • Communication Skills: Must demonstrate strong written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey messages clearly, professionally, and diplomatically.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Prior Moderation Experience: Previous experience moderating Discord servers, forums, subreddits, or other online communities is highly valued.
