Software Engineer
Justworks is a company focused on helping businesses by providing solutions to HR issues in a supportive and entrepreneurial environment. They are seeking a Software Engineer who will independently manage large projects, collaborate with teams to solve customer challenges, and enhance system performance and security.
Responsibilities
- Independently own larged-scoped projects from initial discovery through launch with a focus on outcomes and customer impact
- Collaborate with a cross functional team to find solutions to customer challenges
- Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our existing systems
- Promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge-sharing and mentorship
- Add capabilities to our high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure
- Enhance our testing, monitoring and continuous deployment infrastructure
- Keep extremely sensitive data compartmentalized and secure
Skills
- Minimum 1 year of professional development experience
- Proficiency in server-side languages like Python, Java, Node.js, or Ruby (Go experience is a plus)
- Solid SQL skills and understanding of database fundamentals
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (basic deployment and monitoring)
- Interest in helping junior developers and contributing to team knowledge sharing
- Experience collaborating with designers and product managers on feature development
