About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Sustainable Mobility and Energy

arenaflex is a global leader in sustainable transportation and clean‑energy solutions. From cutting‑edge electric vehicles to advanced energy‑storage systems, arenaflex is reshaping how people move and power their lives. Our mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to renewable energy by delivering innovative products, intelligent data‑driven services, and an unmatched customer experience. As a remote‑first organization, arenaflex empowers talent worldwide to collaborate, innovate, and make a tangible impact on a planet‑positive future.

Why This Role Matters

Data is the lifeblood of arenaflex’s rapid growth. Every vehicle, charging station, and energy‑storage unit generates streams of information that, when harnessed correctly, unlock new efficiencies, enhance driver experiences, and guide strategic decisions. As a Senior Remote Data & Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be at the heart of this transformation. You’ll design, build, and maintain the enterprise‑wide data platform that powers analytics, reporting, and predictive insights for senior leadership, product teams, and operational units across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines using Python, Apache Airflow, and modern ELT/ETL frameworks to ingest, cleanse, and transform high‑volume data from vehicle telemetry, charging infrastructure, and energy‑storage devices.
  • Design, develop, and optimize data warehouses (DataMarts) on platforms such as MySQL, SQL Server, and Vertica, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance with data‑governance standards.
  • Create and maintain robust BI solutions using industry‑leading visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to deliver self‑service dashboards for C‑level executives and functional teams.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers, data scientists, and IT operations to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and prioritize roadmap items.
  • Develop ad‑hoc analytical reports on demand, leveraging SQL and scripting to answer “what‑if” scenarios and support rapid decision‑making.
  • Lead code reviews, design workshops, and documentation efforts to promote best practices, maintain high code quality, and ensure knowledge sharing across the data engineering community.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data pipelines and warehouse performance, implementing automated testing, alerting, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in data engineering, cloud platforms, and AI/ML integration, recommending strategic enhancements that keep arenaflex at the forefront of data innovation.
  • Champion a data‑driven culture by mentoring junior engineers, conducting training sessions, and evangelizing the value of reliable, accessible data throughout the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience building production‑grade data pipelines with Python and Apache Airflow (or equivalent orchestration tools).
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing DataMarts, data warehouses, and data models within relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Vertica.
  • Strong command of SQL—writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to create executive‑level dashboards and reports, translating raw data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with data‑lake concepts, Parquet/ORC file formats, and big‑data processing frameworks (Spark, Flink).
  • Background in automotive or energy‑sector data, understanding of telemetry, charging‑station logs, or renewable‑energy metrics.
  • Knowledge of machine‑learning pipelines and how to operationalize predictive models within the data platform.
  • Certification in data engineering, cloud architecture, or related disciplines.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of data engineering principles, ETL/ELT design patterns, and BI best practices.
  • Collaboration: Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across product, finance, operations, and executive teams.
  • Strategic Vision: Capacity to see the big picture, prioritize initiatives that deliver the highest business impact, and align technical solutions with arenaflex’s long‑term goals.
  • Continuous Learning: Proactive attitude toward staying ahead of industry trends, experimenting with new tools, and sharing knowledge.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working remotely across time zones, managing ambiguous requirements, and delivering high‑quality outcomes under pressure.
