About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Automotive Infotainment Software Engineer to join their globally distributed engineering team. This fully remote role allows you to contribute to the development of next-generation in-vehicle infotainment systems from anywhere. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating software components for user interfaces, media playback, navigation, and connectivity features. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development for embedded systems, a passion for user experience, and familiarity with automotive infotainment architectures. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement software features for automotive infotainment systems using languages such as C++, Java, or Python. Design and optimize user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) for in-car systems. Integrate third-party applications and services into the infotainment platform. Work with multimedia frameworks, audio/video codecs, and connectivity technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi). Collaborate with UI/UX designers, system engineers, and other software teams. Perform software testing, debugging, and performance optimization. Ensure software adheres to automotive quality standards and processes. Contribute to the overall software architecture and design decisions for infotainment systems. Stay updated on the latest trends in mobile, web, and embedded software development relevant to automotive applications. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on embedded systems or consumer electronics. Experience developing applications for embedded Linux or Android Automotive OS. Proficiency in C++, Java, or Python. Knowledge of UI/UX principles and graphical frameworks. Familiarity with automotive infotainment systems and protocols. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for a remote environment. Experience with multimedia frameworks and audio/video processing is a plus.
