Admin Payroll - Finance/GL

Ahold Delhaize USA, a division of global food retailer Ahold Delhaize, is part of the U.S. family of brands that includes several leading grocery brands. The Payroll Administrator will administer and support payroll finance/GL functions, ensuring accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations, while also addressing inquiries related to payroll accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and analyze assigned department general ledger accounts
  • Post all payroll entries to general ledger accounts
  • Responds to all inquiries from the business for questions related to payroll accounts and labor account postings
  • Research, resolve and reconcile outstanding general ledger items and variances
  • Accurately record transactions to the general ledger for salaries and related items
  • Perform ad hoc domestic accounting reconciliations including payroll-related accrual and tax accounts
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine drivers for variances and elevate to Manager as appropriate
  • Respond and resolve all Payroll-related associate inquiries that come through the Associate Service Center. (supporting over 200,000 associates)
  • Responsible for other duties as required
  • Maintain confidentiality with all associate information
  • It is expected this position will function quite independently and be able to resolve any issues that arise in the account reconciliations themselves

Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong Excel skills & Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous accounting experience in General Ledger and account reconciliation processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to deadlines
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Experience with ECP systems preferred
