Sales Agent (Gaslamp)
Gaslamp Insurance Services is a tech-enabled brokerage founded in 1990, focused on improving the insurance sales process. They are seeking a Sales Agent to handle inbound and outbound calls, assess insurance needs, provide quotes, and close sales while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Handle 15-30+ inbound calls and 50+ outbound calls with voicemail a day to and from prospects/customers who are seeking coverage, managing their policy, or requiring service assistance
- Assess the P&C insurance needs such as general liability, workers comp or business auto and excess policies of each prospect and customer and recommend suitable products and services from our portfolio of carriers and markets
- Provide fast and accurate quotes over the phone for prospects and customers using our online application system and tools
- Close sales by following a sales script and process, by persuading prospects and customers to buy our products and services and by overcoming any objections or concerns they may have
- Promote additional lines of business within an account
- Build and maintain positive relationships with prospects and customers by providing excellent service and follow-up throughout the sales process and beyond
- Keep track of your sales activities and results using our customer database, AMS (Agency Management Systems), and ensure that all information and documentation are complete and accurate
- Collaborate with other sales agents, customer service representatives, underwriters, and managers to achieve team and company goals
- Adapt to new and evolving technology as we improve our processes and workflows
Skills
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven experience as a telesales representative or other sales role in the insurance industry, or commercial insurance sales experience
- P&C insurance license for California required with ability to provide proof of licensing upon request
- Construction insurance sales experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred
