Harborview Medical Center has an opportunity for a Perioperative Register Nurse to join us at our Outpatient Surgery Center. The UW Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center at Harborview is a five operating room surgical unit with supporting pre-operative, post-operative, and sterile processing departments. We opened our operating rooms in January 2026. We are expanding our services in July 2026 for Endo Spine, Gender Affirming (Plastics), General Surgery, Urology and Laser for burn patients. WORK SCHEDULE 60% Mon-Friday (2-12’s/ week) Day Shift Work hours will be 0530-1730, 0600-1800, or 0630-1830, based on selected shift No holidays, weekends, or nights No on-call shifts POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Predictable surgical schedule Efficient fast paced environment Team oriented Stand-alone surgery center with Harborview support DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The UW Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center provides daytime surgical procedures to the community of patients that meet developed criteria. ABOUT THE OUTPATIENT SURGERY CENTER The Outpatient Surgery Center on the Harborview Campus is located on the 4th floor of Ninth and Jefferson Building (NJB) and opened January 2026 to patients. The Surgery Center features 5 operating rooms, 12 pre/post bays, and sterile processing. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday with no holidays, weekends, or night hours. The Center offers same-day surgery procedures utilizing state-of–the-art equipment to our community of patients that meet the necessary criteria. This reflects the Center’s innovative, patient-centered culture, supporting ongoing operational efficiencies and each patient, surgeon, and staff member. The unit provides a soothing environment with natural lighting and patient privacy. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (PER/POST OP) Patient admit to the unit Patient teaching and discharge Administration of pre and post operative medications Continuous patient pre and post operative assessment Documentation in Epic Participation in quality improvement projects REQUIREMENTS Graduated from an accredited school of nursing Two or more years of perioperative experiences Has a WA/MSL RN license to practice in the state of Washington.
