Our mission is to transform raw information into actionable insights that power strategic decisions, improve operational efficiency, and delight end‑users worldwide. As part of our ongoing scientific transformation in the Talent Acquisition (TA) space, we are expanding our data science team to include visionary professionals who thrive in fast‑paced, remote environments.

Why This Role Matters

The Remote Data Scientist position is at the heart of arenaflex’s data‑centric strategy. You will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of data—starting from acquisition, through cleansing, modeling, and automation—ultimately delivering high‑impact analytics that drive business outcomes. Whether you prefer daytime or nighttime shifts, this role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to mission‑critical projects that shape the future of online retail and talent acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product managers, software engineers, and business leaders—to define data‑driven solutions for complex business problems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods, machine‑learning algorithms, and predictive modeling techniques to extract insights and forecast trends.
  • Automate repetitive data‑processing tasks using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect, ensuring high reliability and low latency.
  • Conduct rigorous A/B testing and experiment analysis to evaluate the impact of new features, marketing campaigns, and operational changes.
  • Document and communicate findings through clear visualizations, dashboards, and written reports tailored to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in data warehousing, big‑data technologies, and AI/ML best practices, proactively recommending enhancements to existing workflows.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the remote team.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, security standards, and privacy regulations across all stages of the data lifecycle.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and programming languages (e.g., Python). Experience with statistical programming languages such as R, SAS, or MATLAB is also valued.
  • Machine Learning & Analytics: At least 3 years of experience building, evaluating, and deploying machine‑learning models and statistical analysis tools in a production environment.
  • Model Deployment: Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical models into practical, scalable solutions that solve real‑world business challenges.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: Proven track record of identifying inefficiencies in data pipelines and implementing innovative improvements.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with experience presenting technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Previous experience in a Machine Learning or Data Scientist role within a large technology organization.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and services such as Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for model deployment.
  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques and their application to talent acquisition data.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to dissect complex datasets, identify patterns, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Programming Proficiency: Expert‑level Python and SQL skills; familiarity with libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Data Engineering Acumen: Experience building robust ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Statistical Insight: Strong foundation in hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time‑series forecasting, and experimental design.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in a remote, distributed team environment, leveraging tools like Slack, Zoom, and Confluence.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
