Role Overview – Customer Engineer (Windows Server Platforms)

arenaflex is seeking a seasoned Customer Engineer who specializes in Windows Server platforms and hybrid cloud environments. This is a 100 % remote position that blends proactive service delivery, technical mentorship, and strategic relationship building. You will act as a trusted advisor to arenaflex’s enterprise and government customers, guiding them through assessments, workshops, and hands‑on implementations that drive operational excellence and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive Service Delivery: Design and conduct education workshops, technical assessments, and advisory sessions that empower customers to adopt best‑in‑class Windows Server and Azure solutions.
  • Customer Training & Enablement: Deliver hands‑on training, develop curriculum, and share industry‑leading expertise to elevate customer teams’ skill sets.
  • Community Engagement: Participate actively in arenaflex’s developer community, contributing ideas, code samples, and documentation that improve the overall customer experience.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that project milestones align with business objectives.
  • Technical Collaboration: Leverage arenaflex’s consulting practice and product groups to provide customers with comprehensive solutions that span on‑premises and cloud environments.
  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Lead complex incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis, and develop remediation plans that minimize downtime and risk.
  • Certification & Best‑Practice Development: Maintain and extend relevant accreditations, create best‑practice guides, and mentor internal teams on emerging technologies.
  • Communication Excellence: Produce clear technical documentation, compelling presentations, and effective training materials that resonate with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Growth Mindset: Continuously seek learning opportunities, stay current with industry trends, and champion innovative approaches within arenaflex and its customer base.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in customer‑facing roles involving systems architecture, administration, operations, or IT consulting for enterprise or government clients.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hybrid infrastructure design, including deep knowledge of Windows Server (2012 R2 – 2025), Hyper‑V, VMware, Azure VMware Services, and Azure Stack HCI.
  • Proficiency with Azure IaaS services (networking, storage, compute) and a solid grasp of Infrastructure‑as‑Code, governance, Azure Migrate, the Well‑Architected Framework, and the Cloud Adoption Framework.
  • Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting, DSC, and automation, as well as experience with Windows Update, patch management, failover clustering, and performance tuning.
  • Hands‑on experience with Windows client platforms (Windows 10/11), Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD), and kernel‑level debugging (Blue Screen analysis).
  • Strong analytical abilities to conduct thorough problem analysis, develop remediation strategies, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of delivering technical presentations and training sessions.
  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Windows Server certifications are highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with modern IT architecture frameworks, including Zero‑Trust security models and multi‑cloud governance.
  • Background in designing and implementing large‑scale migration projects from on‑premises to Azure.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and their integration with Windows workloads.
  • Ability to author technical whitepapers, case studies, and best‑practice guides that influence industry standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits
