About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Retail Technology

At arenaflex, we are redefining how millions of shoppers experience retail every day. As a global leader in technology‑driven commerce, arenaflex blends cutting‑edge data science, cloud engineering, and innovative software development to create seamless, personalized shopping journeys. Our mission is simple: empower customers with fast, reliable, and intelligent services while giving our engineers the freedom to experiment, learn, and shape the next generation of retail solutions. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where a single line of code can impact millions, arenaflex is the place to accelerate your career.

Why This Role Matters

Data is the lifeblood of arenaflex’s digital ecosystem. As a Data Entry Engineer, you will be the guardian of the information pipelines that feed our advertising, analytics, and partner platforms. Your work ensures that data is accurate, accessible, and reliable—enabling product teams, marketers, and external partners to make data‑driven decisions that drive revenue and improve customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store massive volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product, analytics, QA, and partner operations—to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient ETL workflows.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, Python scripts, and Scala jobs for data extraction, cleansing, enrichment, and loading.
  • Implement and manage ETL orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow to schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot data workflows.
  • Work with both relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) to ensure data consistency and performance.
  • Integrate real‑time streaming data using Apache Kafka, guaranteeing low‑latency delivery for time‑sensitive applications.
  • Deploy containerized applications with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes clusters across cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and rapid incident response, providing swift resolutions to data pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks.
  • Document data models, pipeline architectures, and operational procedures to promote knowledge sharing and maintainability.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and propose enhancements that improve data reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience designing and operating data pipelines, with strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and at least one of Scala, Java, or Go.
  • ETL Tools: Hands‑on experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration platforms.
  • Data Stores: Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Streaming & Messaging: Experience building real‑time data ingestion pipelines using Apache Kafka or comparable messaging systems.
  • Cloud & Containerization: Demonstrated ability to deploy and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters on GCP, Azure, or AWS.
  • Big Data Ecosystem: Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and distributed storage solutions.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: Ability to diagnose complex data issues, propose root‑cause analyses, and implement long‑term fixes.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, capable of presenting technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Self‑driven attitude with a track record of taking responsibility for end‑to‑end delivery of data solutions.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Experience with cloud‑native data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and GDPR/CCPA compliance.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for automated testing and deployment of data services.
  • Background in machine learning pipelines or feature engineering for predictive analytics.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate).

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect large data sets, identify patterns, and translate insights into actionable pipeline improvements.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in Agile scrum teams, partnering with product owners, data scientists, and infrastructure engineers.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly and new technologies emerge regularly.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all stages of the pipeline.
  • Continuous Learning: Passion for staying current with industry trends, open‑source projects, and best practices in data engineering.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its team members. As a Data Entry Engineer, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship programs pairing you with senior data architects and cloud specialists.
