As a Remote Customer Support Specialist with arenaflex, you will play a critical role in assisting millions of TurboTax customers with their tax software needs, from basic navigation to locating prior returns and amendments. Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Support Specialist working on the Intuit TurboTax program through arenaflex, your day-to-day responsibilities will be dynamic and customer-centric. You will be the first point of contact for customers seeking assistance with the TurboTax software platform, providing clear, friendly, and knowledgeable support through multiple channels.

  • Phone Support with Video Chat Capability: Handle inbound customer calls, providing real-time assistance with software navigation, troubleshooting, and general inquiries. Utilize video chat to enhance the customer experience when needed, offering a more personalized and effective support interaction.
  • Traditional Live Chat Support: Respond to customer inquiries through text-based chat, addressing questions about TurboTax features, account access, prior returns, and amendments with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Software Navigation Assistance: Guide customers step-by-step through the TurboTax platform, helping them understand how to input data, file returns, access prior year filings, and use various tools within the software.
  • Locating Prior Returns and Amendments: Assist customers in retrieving and understanding their previous tax filings and any amendments they may have submitted, ensuring they have the documentation they need.
  • Escalation Management: Identify when a customer issue requires additional support beyond your scope and escalate the call appropriately, ensuring the customer’s needs are fully addressed.
  • Multi-Channel Customer Engagement: Seamlessly transition between phone, video chat, and live chat support, adapting your communication style to suit each channel while maintaining a consistent, professional tone.
  • Documentation and Follow-Up: Accurately document customer interactions, issues, and resolutions in the appropriate systems to support continuous improvement and quality assurance.

  • Availability During Peak Hours: Must be available to schedule hours between 7 AM and 11 PM CST, Monday through Sunday, including weekdays and weekends.
  • Quiet, Professional Work Environment: A dedicated, distraction-free home office space with an organized desk area and professional appearance for video interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will give candidates a competitive edge:

  • Prior experience in customer service, call center, or tech support roles
  • Familiarity with tax preparation software, accounting, or finance-related platforms
  • Experience with live chat support and multi-channel customer engagement
  • Background in troubleshooting software issues or providing remote technical assistance
  • Previous independent contractor or remote work experience

Technology and Equipment Requirements

To ensure a seamless customer support experience, all contractors must meet the following technical requirements:

  • Personal Computer: A desktop or laptop computer (tablets are not supported)
  • Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (Mac users limited to Intel-based machines with Windows 11 installed via Apple’s Boot Camp utility)
  • Internet Connection: Broadband connection with a recommended minimum of 10 Mbps; a wired connection is required (no Wi-Fi or mobile internet)
  • Antivirus Software: Valid, up-to-date antivirus software installed and actively running
  • USB Headset with Microphone: Required for clear audio communication during phone support
  • Webcam: arenaflex will provide a webcam on loan for the duration of the contract for video chat support

Compensation and Earning Potential

arenaflex is committed to offering competitive pay that rewards your hard work and dedication. This seasonal program includes base hourly pay plus performance-based incentives, with the potential to earn even more during peak tax season.

  • Base Rate: Earn up to $19 per hour, plus additional incentives
  • Peak Season Bonuses (April 8 – April 15, 2024):
    • April 8–11: Additional $3/hour for those working over 12 productive hours; $4/hour for over 16 productive hours; $5/hour for over 20 productive hours
    • April 12–14: Additional $5/hour for those working over 20 productive hours
    • April 15 (Tax Day): Additional $10/hour for those working over 5 productive hours
  • Average Earnings: Contractors who meet or exceed key performance metrics earn an average equivalent of $16–$19/hour during peak times and $15.60–$17.50/hour during non-peak times
  • Peak Rates Apply: January through April
  • Minimum Pay Guarantee: Contractors are guaranteed a minimum of 45 minutes of pay for each hour they are available for the full 60 minutes

  • Location Restrictions: We are currently unable to work with contractors residing in California, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington.
  • Background Check: Contractors must successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Independent Contractor Status: The relationship between you and arenaflex is contractual. You will remain an independent contractor for the duration of the program and will not be classified as an employee. arenaflex will not withhold taxes from your earnings, and you will not receive employee benefits such as vacation pay, sick leave, retirement benefits, Social Security, worker’s compensation, health or disability benefits, overtime, or unemployment insurance.
