Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Quality Control Standards Data Analyst Intern to join our Quality Control Standards team. This role is designed for recent graduates or senior‑level students who are eager to apply analytical skills to real business challenges, support process improvements, and contribute to a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous growth. The internship runs from May 21 to August 9, 2024, with a commitment of 40 hours per week and a competitive hourly rate of $28.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and analyze data sets from multiple sources to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Collaborate with senior Quality Control team members to develop and present findings in clear, actionable formats for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Assist in the creation of data‑driven recommendations that reduce operational risk and support arenaflex’s goals of low‑cost operations, increased efficiency, and enhanced consistency.
  • Perform ad‑hoc investigations into emerging maintenance issues, providing logical solutions that enable senior leadership to make informed decisions.
  • Design and execute queries using tools such as SQL, Alteryx, or QuickBase to extract and consolidate information from disparate systems.
  • Develop visualizations (charts, dashboards, heat maps) that highlight key performance indicators and support stakeholder understanding.
  • Conduct audits of existing processes, document findings, and propose corrective actions that align with the organization’s quality standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of sensitive data, adhering to arenaflex’s data governance policies.
  • Support larger business initiatives by providing data‑backed insights that drive strategic planning and operational excellence.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and cross‑functional collaborations, contributing a proactive and solution‑focused mindset.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or expected graduation) in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret large data sets with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Basic understanding of data‑analysis concepts such as trend analysis, root‑cause investigation, and statistical reporting.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and willingness to be based in Texas (remote work with occasional on‑site events).

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Hands‑on experience with data‑analysis platforms such as Alteryx, QuickBase, or similar workflow automation tools.
  • Exposure to SQL or other query languages for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Previous internship, capstone project, or coursework that involved data collection, cleaning, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with quality‑control or process‑improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Experience creating professional presentations in PowerPoint to support senior‑level discussions.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex data, spot patterns, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying root causes and recommending practical solutions.
  • Communication: Strong storytelling skills to translate data insights into compelling narratives.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working within a team‑oriented environment, sharing knowledge, and supporting peers.
