The Information Researcher will play a pivotal role in producing Certifiable Evidence (RWE) through advanced examination methodologies, creative analytical techniques, and innovative approaches within the clinical trials space. As a vital member of our Scientific Undertakings group, you will leverage cutting-edge data science and technology to influence both internal and external decision-making processes. This position reports directly to the Chief, Clinical Information Science, and offers an exceptional opportunity to conduct sophisticated data analysis that addresses critical business questions and contributes to groundbreaking healthcare research.

Key Responsibilities

As an Information Researcher at arenaflex, your day-to-day responsibilities will be both challenging and rewarding. You will:

  • Mine and Transform Raw Datasets: Extract, clean, and process raw data to deliver standardized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data resources or licensed platforms. Analyze and interpret results while helping shape overall research strategy.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Trial Teams: Partner with various members of the arenaflex Clinical Preliminary colleagues to deliver actionable insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources supporting biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial initiatives. Potential projects include analysis of unmet medical needs, safety and effectiveness of treatments for specific disease states, treatment patterns, healthcare economic burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
  • Build Integrated Data Infrastructure: Clean, transform, and store data into a unified data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization, ensuring accessibility and quality across the organization.
  • Conduct Advanced Statistical Analysis: Perform data mining and statistical analysis on RWE/RWD to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes that can inform clinical and commercial strategies.
  • Develop Analytical Platforms: Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities by applying advanced analytical methods and tools to address scientific questions from biopharmaceutical partners.
  • Design and Execute Outcomes Research: Collaborate on the design and implementation of outcomes research studies that meet the highest scientific standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Quality and Accuracy: Guarantee high-quality, comprehensive, and readily interpretable deliverables from RWE studies and analyses that can withstand rigorous scientific scrutiny.
  • Build Visualization and Reporting Tools: Construct dashboards, analytics solutions, and comprehensive reports for both internal stakeholders and external client consumption.
  • Vet Data Sources and Partners: Conduct thorough due diligence on new real-world data providers and vendors, driving RWD quality assessments to inform strategic partnership and procurement decisions.

Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Educational Foundation: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, epidemiology, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Statistical Analysis Experience: Hands-on experience in designing and executing robust, reproducible statistical analyses within the context of epidemiology and observational research using healthcare data.
  • Statistical Methods Knowledge: Proficiency in common statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, classification and segmentation techniques, decision trees, unsupervised learning approaches, time series analysis, and survival analysis.
  • Big Data Handling: Demonstrated experience processing large datasets from multiple, disparate data sources and integrating them into cohesive analytical frameworks.
  • Data Privacy Expertise: Experience handling protected patient health information (PHI) with a thorough understanding of privacy regulations and best practices.
  • BI Tool Proficiency: Knowledge of at least one of the following business intelligence tools: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or comparable platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree: A PhD or Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Healthcare Data Expertise: Proficiency in working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Health Information Technology systems, disease registries, and insurance claims databases.
  • Clinical Data Standards Knowledge: Mastery of clinical data standards, medical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies, including ICD-9, ICD-10, Read Code, and related classification systems.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Experience: Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials, including familiarity with ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Alternative Data Sources: Experience working with alternative data sources and innovative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by emerging technology platforms and digital health solutions.
  • Advanced Modeling Techniques: Experience with exploratory data analysis, Bayesian modeling, sequential data analysis, and computational statistics.
  • Machine Learning Acumen: Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques, with the demonstrated ability to continue self-directed learning of both technical and non-technical skills.
