Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Engineering & BI Specialist at arenaflex, you will take ownership of designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting our Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence platform. Your work will directly influence how the organization understands its operations, identifies opportunities, and responds to challenges. Below is a detailed overview of what you will be doing:

• Enterprise Data Warehouse Development: Work in a time-constrained, fast-paced environment to analyze, design, develop, and deliver high-quality Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that our data infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and capable of supporting the evolving needs of the business.
• ETL/ELT Pipeline Creation: Build and maintain robust ETL and ELT pipelines using Python and Airflow. You will ensure that data flows seamlessly from source systems into our data warehouse, transforming and loading it in a way that makes it readily accessible for analysis and reporting.
• Ad Hoc Reporting and Automation: Construct ad hoc reports to support curious data users across the organization. You will leverage Tableau (referred to as "Scene" in some contexts) to create automated, visually compelling reports that empower stakeholders to access the insights they need without delay.
• Platform Design and Maintenance: Design, develop, maintain, and support our Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI platform within arenaflex using a variety of data and BI tools. Your work will ensure that the platform remains cutting-edge, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaborative relationships and work closely with key business sponsors, IT resources, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the efficient resolution of requests. You will serve as a bridge between technical teams and business users, translating complex data needs into actionable solutions.
• Effective Communication: Communicate technical and business topics in a 360-degree manner as appropriate. You will prepare and deliver presentations using written, verbal, and visual materials to ensure that all audiences—from engineers to C-level executives—can understand and act on data insights.
• Quality Assurance and Best Practices: Develop, support, and recommend enhancements to applications in the areas of standards, policies, compliance, and quality assurance practices. Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in creating data pipelines using Python and Airflow is required. You should be comfortable working with these tools in a production environment.
• Data Warehousing Expertise: Proven experience in designing DataMart and Data Warehouse solutions, as well as creating database objects within relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and Vertica is required.
