Why This Role Matters

The Product Frameworks and Examination group is the analytical engine behind arenaflex’s Consumer Products, Gaming, and Distribution (CPGP) division. This division creates, markets, and sells arenaflex‑branded merchandise around the globe. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced predictive models that power omnichannel decision‑making. Your work will directly influence product assortment, pricing, inventory optimization, and personalized digital experiences, ensuring that arenaflex remains at the forefront of consumer trends and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define the vision and roadmap for the Data Science team, focusing on omnichannel analytics that span physical retail, e‑commerce, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with analysts, product owners, and business leaders to translate high‑level business objectives into concrete data‑driven solutions.
  • Model Development & Deployment: Build, validate, and operationalize statistical, machine‑learning, and AI models that uncover insights, forecast demand, and recommend actions.
  • Data Pipeline Architecture: Design robust data pipelines using modern ETL tools to ensure clean, timely, and reliable data feeds for analytics and reporting.
  • Best Practices & Governance: Establish and enforce data science standards, code review processes, and documentation to maintain high quality and reproducibility.
  • Visualization & Storytelling: Create compelling dashboards, visualizations, and presentations that translate complex analytical findings into clear business narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Innovation & Research: Apply cutting‑edge techniques such as deep learning, causal inference, and time‑series analysis to solve novel business challenges.
  • Mentorship: Coach junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Agile Delivery: Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives within agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) to ensure timely delivery of high‑impact projects.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience building predictive, statistical, or AI models that solve real‑world business problems, preferably in a retail or consumer‑goods environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in web analytics and customer segmentation, using data to drive personalized online experiences.
  • Proven ability to lead small, fast‑paced teams through end‑to‑end data analysis, hypothesis generation, and solution delivery.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with the capacity to tackle ambiguous, multi‑dimensional challenges and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data engineering concepts.
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML methodologies, including supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline.

  • Familiarity with causal inference techniques, A/B testing frameworks, and experimental design.
