Associate Benefits Analyst, Employee Benefits

The Associate Benefits Analyst supports the Employee Benefits team by delivering administrative, technical, and analytical assistance, contributing to client deliverables and ensuring data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Supports data entry, census tracking, and file audits
  • Assists with creating and maintaining spreadsheets, templates, and documents
  • Provides data support and participates in team meetings
  • Assist with benchmarking, vendor grids, and the development of communication strategies for Market Analysis
  • Assists with providing underwriting services and technical support
  • Analyzes benefits and claims data for Market Analysis, including interpreting census data and contribution modeling
  • Organizes carrier and vendor bids, follows up on late or missing submissions, and maintains client databases in internal systems
  • Reviews insurance bids for compliance with specifications, identifying key differences in bids, and maintaining client databases within internal systems
  • Supports the RFP process, including reporting results to carrier partners/vendors and negotiating rates
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

Skills

  • High School / GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Must hold a valid CA Life Agent license or will obtain (within first 6 months)
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Computer Skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Excel; Project Management software and Database software preferred
  • Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry
  • Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to effectively work with a team and coach others in developing their skills and abilities
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
  • Ability to ready, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in order to complete assignments on time and with optimal accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Project Management software and Database software preferred
