Overpayment Analyst, US Payroll (Hybrid)

The US Payroll organization is seeking a Payroll Overpayment Analyst to support routine activities within the overpayment process, assisting in reviewing case information, gathering data, preparing documentation, and supporting payroll transactions under close guidance from more experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, logging, and reviewing basic information related to employee overpayment cases under direct supervision
  • Support the preparation of simple payroll corrections or entries after receiving clear instructions from senior staff
  • Draft initial versions of process documents and employee communications using standard templates and guidance
  • Maintain accurate and organized case documentation in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform basic data checks to confirm earnings and taxation details as directed
  • Assist with routine reporting and simple reconciliations related to the Overpayment Receivable (OPR) process
  • Help prepare materials needed for audit activities by gathering data and completing assigned tasks
  • Monitor case information routed through work flow systems and escalate discrepancies to senior team members
  • Assist in tracking BOT-processed items and flag potential issues for review
  • Respond to routine employee and stakeholder inquiries using standard responses and scripts
  • Provide status updates to HR, Finance, and Payroll partners as directed
  • Identify recurring questions or simple issues and share observations with the team
  • Participate in training, knowledge sessions, and improvement discussions to support development of payroll skills

Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Basic understanding of payroll concepts (earnings, deductions, taxation) or strong interest in learning
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Exposure to US payroll operations (internship or academic project experience welcomed)
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP GlobalView, ADP EV5, or similar
  • Interest in developing analytical skills related to payroll data and compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow established procedures and seek guidance when needed
