[Remote] Product Business Analyst II
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Elephant Insurance is a dynamic and supportive company recognized as a “Great Place to Work.” They are seeking a Product Business Analyst II to bridge the gap between business teams and IT, ensuring that stakeholder requirements are accurately translated into functional specifications and that the final deliverables meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with business stakeholders across Claims, Underwriting, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to become the person they call before they write the ticket, not after
- Lead requirements discovery by interviewing not just the original requestor, but adjacent teams and anyone else who touches the process to surface the requirements they didn't know they had
- Use AI tools to accelerate the documentation layer to draft requirements, functional specs, and user stories freeing more time for the high-value stakeholder and quality work
- Liaise between business and IT throughout the project lifecycle, managing communication, resolving clarifications, and keeping delivery on track
- Own post-launch quality: review dashboards, reports, and system outputs after every release to confirm the build is performing as intended and escalate clearly when it isn't
- Track project status across active workstreams and communicate updates proactively so stakeholders are never surprised
- Ask the question that wasn't asked to surface the "what happens when X?" issues before they become expensive fixes
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in business analysis, IT project coordination, product operations, or a similar role (internships and co-ops count)
- Strong relationship and communication skills — stakeholders should find you easy to work with, and IT should find your documentation easy to build from
- Genuine curiosity about how systems and data work — you want to understand why something is built the way it is, not just how to use it
- Analytical mindset: you can read a report or a data output and spot when something looks wrong
- Demonstrated comfort using AI tools in a professional or academic context — you use them to work faster and better, not to avoid thinking
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail across multiple concurrent projects
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
- Prior experience writing requirements documentation, user stories, or functional specifications
- Exposure to software development lifecycles (SDLC) or IT project delivery in any capacity
- Familiarity with project or workflow tools (Jira, Confluence, Asana, or similar)
- Experience in auto insurance, property & casualty insurance, or financial services, specifically experience with Guidewire and Ratabase
- Experience reviewing reporting or dashboard outputs and catching data quality issues
Benefits
- Every employee starts with 22 days of paid time off each year plus an additional day each year after that. PTO is meant to be used and is an important part of work-life balance – each manager encourages their employees to use all PTO.
