Part-Time Digital Navigator

As a Digital Navigator, you will work closely with diverse community members, helping them access online resources, improve their web development skills, and utilize various educational platforms. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group assistance to individuals seeking help with digital tools, online platforms, and web development projects
- Assist users in understanding and utilizing learning management systems such as Blackboard for course access and content management
- Support adult learners in developing foundational skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, R, Java, C++, Node.js, React, React Express, and other programming languages
- Guide learners through lesson planning and instructional design for teaching coding or digital literacy classes
- Conduct classroom workshops or virtual sessions on topics like web development, JavaScript programming, or using educational software tools
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to software applications or hardware used during training sessions
- Document interactions and progress in tracking systems to ensure continuous learner support and program improvement
Experience
- Prior experience working with adult education or community outreach programs is highly desirable
- Strong familiarity with web development technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, React Express, Java, C++, Python, R, and Blackboard platform
- Proven ability to teach or mentor learners of varying skill levels in technical subjects such as coding or digital literacy
- Classroom experience facilitating workshops or training sessions in a professional setting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues effectively
