A Day in the Life as a Healthcare Customer Service Representative

As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients, providing empathetic and personalized support to help them navigate the billing process and resolve their outstanding medical balances. You'll actively listen to patients, negotiate and collect payments, and provide excellent customer service even in challenging situations. Your knowledge that you've helped someone in their time of need will be the most rewarding part of your job.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, actively listening to their concerns and resolving their medical balances

  • Negotiate and collect payments from patients, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances
  • Collaborate with patients to understand their financial situations and develop personalized payment plans
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions and billing information
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices in healthcare billing and finance
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in healthcare billing and finance, including understanding of HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and adapt to changing technology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and active listening
  • Positive can-do attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as healthcare administration or business

  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software
  • Certification in medical billing or coding, such as CPC or CCS
  • Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish

Work Schedule:

Our Healthcare Customer Service Representatives enjoy flexibility through three schedule options:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
