We’re seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and proactive Database Consultant eager to gain hands-on experience supporting nonprofit clients through database management, reporting, donor analytics, and fundraising operations. This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects in a collaborative consulting environment while gaining exposure to a variety of nonprofit organizations and missions. You’ll help support client database systems, improve data integrity and processes, generate insights that inform fundraising strategy, and contribute to solutions that make a measurable difference. About The Role 100% remote –

Compensation: $30-38 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • This position is classified as an independent contractor role (1099) and is not eligible for employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update donor and constituent records within nonprofit CRM/database systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity
  • Draft, format, and distribute donor acknowledgment letters and tax receipts
  • Upload and manage donor communications, acknowledgments, and supporting documentation within the CRM
  • Generate and analyze fundraising, donor, and campaign reports for clients and leadership teams
  • Assist with database clean-up projects, duplicate record management, and data validation efforts
  • Support donor stewardship initiatives through accurate tracking of engagement, giving history, and outreach activities
  • Prepare mailing lists, donor segments, and event attendance reports for fundraising and communications initiatives
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to improve database processes, reporting workflows, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive donor and organizational information
  • Provide administrative and project support related to fundraising operations, development initiatives, and client deliverables

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Nonprofit Management, or a related field — or possess commensurate professional experience
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, high-quality data
  • Experience working with CRM or database platforms preferred (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management best practices
  • Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and communicate insights clearly and effectively
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written communication skills, including professional donor and client correspondence
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote work environment
  • Interest in philanthropy, nonprofit operations, fundraising, and mission-driven work
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn in a consulting environment
