Senior Product Developer

The Data Co. The Data Co. is building the operational data platform for the Medical Aesthetics industry. Our platform helps organizations unify operational, financial, and marketing data into a single system that supports faster, better, and more consistent decision-making across the business. We are solving technically difficult problems involving large-scale operational data, complex integrations, analytics infrastructure, and real-world workflows. We care deeply about product quality, execution speed, and building systems that customers rely on every day. About the role: This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on building and improving real operational systems used by customers every day. You will work across backend systems, APIs, integrations, analytics, operational tooling, and customer-facing product features depending on business priorities and where you can create the most impact. You will collaborate closely with our founder and product development team to rapidly ship high-value improvements, solve complex operational problems, and improve systems that support messy real-world data and evolving customer workflows. We are looking for highly capable builders who move quickly, communicate clearly, and focus relentlessly on delivering customer value. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and naturally takes ownership. You should enjoy learning new technologies, solving unfamiliar problems, and working across different parts of the stack rather than staying narrowly confined to a single area. What We're Looking For: Strong technical breadth: you are comfortable moving across backend systems, APIs, integrations, analytics, and operational tooling depending on the problem being solved. Strong builder mentality: you care about shipping useful products and solving customer problems, not just writing technically elegant code in isolation. High ownership and initiative: you naturally identify problems, propose solutions, and push work forward without waiting for detailed direction. Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration: you can make good decisions with incomplete information and improve systems over time. Strong product and operational instinct: you think critically about how systems are actually used and how technology creates value. Strong communication skills: you work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify problems and align on priorities. Experience with technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, React, SQL, dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake, APIs, and cloud platforms is valuable, but adaptability and problem-solving ability matter more than matching a rigid checklist. Bonus Signals Startup experience, side projects, open-source contributions, or examples of self-directed technical learning are strong positive signals. Experience building products or systems end-to-end is highly valued. Curiosity around modern AI tooling and engineering workflows is a plus. Location: Montreal or Remote: Our team is split between a core group working on a hybrid basis from our Montreal headquarters and remote team members across North America.
