Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team, focusing on supporting Medicare and Medicaid patients. This role involves working in the MedPharma environment, primarily handling the intake process for prior authorizations of injectables. Initially, you will set up prior authorizations in our systems and forward them to a review technician, with training provided for further review tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the intake process for MedPharma prior authorizations.
  • Set up prior authorizations in the system and forward them for review.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient processing of authorizations.
  • Read and interpret insurance criteria using Microsoft Suite.
  • Engage in extensive reading to stay updated with relevant procedures and guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • Current pharmacy technician license.
  • Experience in managed care and pharmacy settings.
  • Proficiency in handling prior authorizations.
  • Strong data entry skills and ability to manage claims and denials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with appeals processes.
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote and requires working in a closed-door setting with minimal distractions to maintain HIPAA compliance. Strong WiFi and the ability to work effectively from home are essential. The role includes a rotating holiday schedule with team members once fully trained. Training lasts 4-6 weeks, Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6:30 pm EST. After training, the schedule will be Tuesday to Saturday, with preferred hours of 12:30 pm to 9 pm EST from Tuesday to Friday and 8 am to 4:30 pm EST on Saturdays. Lunch breaks range from 30 minutes to an hour. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
