Role Description This is a flexible, on-demand Local Tech Support Helper role based in Seattle, WA, perfect as a side gig similar to driving for Uber or completing tasks on demand. In this role, you will act as a go-to tech helper, like the person friends or family call when they need help with their devices. You can choose when you are available and accept requests that fit your schedule. You will assist local requesters with everyday tech needs such as setting up devices, installing apps, troubleshooting issues, and helping with Wi-Fi or connectivity problems. The focus is on providing real-time, in-person support that is simple, fast, and easy to understand. Each job is typically short and task-based. Once you are matched with a requester and complete the task, you will get paid directly for the service, making it a flexible way to earn extra income. This role is ideal for students, part-time workers, or anyone who is tech-savvy, reliable, and enjoys helping others with technology. Strong communication skills and patience are important, especially when working with people who may not be familiar with tech.

Qualifications

  • Proof of identity and ability to pass a background check (for safety and trust)
  • Comfortable using everyday technology (smartphones, laptops, apps, Wi-Fi setup, etc.)
  • Able to help with common tasks like app installation, device setup, troubleshooting, and file transfers
  • Basic understanding of internet/Wi-Fi and how to fix simple connection issues
  • Good problem-solving skills and willingness to figure things out step by step
  • Friendly, patient, and able to explain tech in simple, easy-to-understand ways
  • Strong communication skills when working with people of all technical levels
  • Organized and reliable when managing tasks or helping with multiple requests
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Previous tech support experience is a plus, but not required
  • Able to lift or move small hardware (e.g., routers, monitors) if needed
