Insurance Biller for Small Mental Health Office

Job Overview Join our dynamic mental health practice as a remote Insurance Biller, where you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes for our mental health services. We are looking for a motivated professional who dedicated, customer service oriented, familiar with Sessions Health, and is passionate about delivering exceptional service through meticulous billing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding standards to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Review medical records and documentation to verify proper coding, including medical terminology and billing codes, aligning with insurance requirements.
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies, working closely with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed and organized medical records within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure all billing information is complete and accurate before submission.
  • Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations, including ICD coding updates and CPT code modifications, to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Manage the entire billing cycle from initial claim submission to final payment receipt, including posting payments and adjusting accounts as needed.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical coding principles specific to mental health services.
  • Proficiency in medical billing processes, including claim submission, follow-up, appeals, and collections.
  • Experience working with Sessions Health for efficient documentation and billing management.
  • Excellent understanding of medical terminology and medical records management practices.
  • Ability to interpret insurance policies and explain billing procedures clearly to patients when necessary.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple claims simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
  • Familiarity with medical office operations and the regulatory environment surrounding healthcare billing. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our practice while supporting our mission to provide outstanding mental health care.
