Dental Verification Specialist

Dental Insurance Verification Specialist (Independent Contractor) Seeking an experienced Dental Insurance Verification Specialist to support a 2 doctor general dental practice with insurance eligibility and benefit verification. The ideal candidate can start immediately, is comfortable working independently, and can follow structured systems and clear SOPs. This role operates with high standards for accuracy, documentation, and consistency across the revenue cycle. Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential. Daytime availability during normal business hours is required. Position Overview: This contractor role focuses on dental insurance eligibility and benefit verification. Verifications are completed approximately two weeks in advance, allowing time for accurate benefit breakdowns and proactive planning. The practice will handle their own same-day verifications, allowing this role to focus on organized, advance verification work rather than high-pressure day-of requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify dental insurance benefits for upcoming patient appointments
• Work the schedule two weeks in advance and perform ongoing schedule scrubbing for new appointments
• Update coverage tables and document benefit details clearly
• Follow established SOPs for verification workflows
• Maintain organized and accurate documentation

• Dentrix
• Pearl AI for verification assistance

Requirements

• Strong understanding of dental insurance billing and the revenue cycle
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation habits
• Comfort working within structured systems and SOP-driven processes

Applicants will complete a dental billing knowledge quiz and a background check as part of the screening process. Contractor Requirements

• Must have your own Tax ID (1099 contractor)
• Errors & Omissions insurance
• Cybersecurity protections and maintained antivirus protection
• Ability to securely handle HIPAA-protected information

Compensation

• 60% of invoice value for the first 90 days
• 70% of invoice value after 90 days
