Podcast Manager Wanted: Help Launch a Fresh, Hope-Filled Podcast on the Future of The World Economy, Tech, and Human Flourishing I'm Pippa Malmgren (@DrPippaM), economist, author, and realistic optimist. My work cuts through the noise of doomsaying headlines to spotlight positive, under-the-radar signals in economics, geopolitics, emerging tech, and human potential. Now, I'm launching a new podcast to help listeners navigate tomorrow's economy with preparation, clarity, and genuine hope—focusing on human flourishing rather than scarcity or fear. I'm seeking an Austin, or US-based, Podcast Manager (part-time/contract to start) who's genuinely excited to build something from the ground up. This isn't maintaining an established show—it's co-creating a fresh voice in the space, one that reframes dread and doom into anticipation and abundance. The aim is to help people better navigate into tomorrow’s economy by bringing a series of Positive Signals: Informed Voices and Important Shifts in Tech, Geopolitics, and the World Economy. I want to reframe the future by offering optimistic and realistic insights into the new frontiers of wealth, work, innovation, and human flourishing. Guests will be global, deep, and heartfelt. We need someone who lives at the intersection of culture, creativity, and audience obsession to launch and grow this. What you'll love about this role if it's right for you:

• The chance to launch and shape a brand-new podcast from day one—strategy, structure, branding, launch plan, and ongoing growth.
• Working closely with a host who brings incredible guest voices, decades of deep knowledge across wide-ranging subjects (from AI and space economies to heartware and the frontiers of the world economy), and an unapologetic focus on realistic optimism and enhancing human flourishing.
• Contributing to content that counters the economist stereotype of perpetual gloom—our lens is evidence-based hope: how innovation, collaboration, preparation, and positive shifts create real opportunities for listeners.
• A creative, values-aligned partnership where your organizational superpowers meet big-picture vision.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the full launch: Help refine the format, episode structure, content calendar, straplines, and branding.
• Handle end-to-end operations: Guest outreach/coordination, scheduling (remote interviews via Riverside or similar), production workflow, publishing, and distribution to major platforms.
• Support content excellence: Prep research/briefs, ensure episodes stay on-brand (optimistic yet grounded), oversee editing (or manage freelancers), and add polish to highlight our voice and insights.
• Drive early growth: Develop and execute launch/promotion strategy (X threads, Substack cross-promotion, clips, AI Search and SEO, community building).
• Social and platform fluency. You understand how content travels across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X. You know what native content looks like on each platform and can brief or shape creative accordingly. You're not just repurposing — you're building platform-specific brand presence.
• Track performance and iterate: Monitor downloads, feedback, retention; suggest tweaks to amplify reach and impact.
• Be the operational backbone so I can focus on delivering high-value conversations and ideas.
• Ideal Candidate Profile:
• 2+ years in podcast production, management, or media operations (launch experience a big plus). But, if you have less, that's ok. I want a competent and driven creative.
• Passion for optimistic, forward-looking content—bonus if you've followed themes like future economy, human flourishing, tech-human synergy, or abundance mindsets.
• Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented; thrives in a startup-like "build it fresh" environment. I'm on a plane so you need to be a self-starter!
• Strong communicator who appreciates deep, interdisciplinary topics and can translate them into engaging content.
• Tech-savvy with tools like Descript, Riverside, Audacity/Adobe Audition, podcast hosts (Buzzsprout/Transistor/Spotify), and social media Insta, X, Meta, etc and analytics.
• Aligned values: Excited by realistic optimism over cynicism; believes podcasts can inspire..
• Location flexible (remote preferred; Austin, TX, bonus for in-person collab).
