Specialty Patient Flow Coordinator II (Medical Assistant), Cardiology

Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do

  • Develop expertise in the assigned specialty area/clinic and perform assigned work in the area.
  • Check in/out patients.
  • Assist, monitor and perform virtual rooming for cardiovascular providers.
  • Perform patient care, including vital signs, weight, height, rooming and assist providers with cardiovascular medication reconciliation.
  • Administer vaccines.
  • Reconcile medications.
  • Conduct point‑of‑care (POC) testing.
  • Collect specimens.
  • Prepare weekly cardiovascular clinic visits (pre‑op/post‑op clinic appointments, lab work, monitoring and reporting results from heart device testing and diagnostic testing).
  • Handle patient phone calls and triage.
  • Stock the clinic area.
  • Order medications and supplies.
  • Process prescription refills.
  • Manage CRM/In‑Basket tasks.
  • Follow assigned protocols.
  • Complete disability paperwork.
  • Maintain the EverReady Checklist.
  • Update temp logs.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day support operations and services for the clinic and cardiovascular programs.
  • Ensure timely completion of work assignments.
  • Maintain workplace safety and infection prevention within the scope of the role.
  • Serve as an ambassador/liaison between physicians, patients, and Cardiovascular Health staff, nurses and clinical associates.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an approved school/institution or equivalent documented training/experience.

Experience Qualifications

  • At least one year of overall experience (including external experience).

Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS – Basic Life Support.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $33.22 – $37.39 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
