Lead Solar Project Developer
A major player in the renewable energy sector is looking for an experienced Lead Solar Project Developer to join their growing team in Jacksonville, Florida, US . This position is integral to identifying, evaluating, and securing new solar energy project opportunities. You will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from initial site identification and feasibility studies to securing permits, interconnection agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPAs). Key responsibilities include market analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, and leading negotiations with landowners, utilities, and other stakeholders. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners to ensure projects are designed and built efficiently and cost-effectively. The Lead Solar Project Developer will also play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with key industry players and policymakers. Staying abreast of regulatory changes and market trends in the solar industry will be essential. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of solar technology, project finance, and the utility landscape. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are paramount. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus. A minimum of 6 years of direct experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on solar, is mandatory. Proven success in bringing solar projects from origination to financial close is essential. Experience with GIS tools, financial modeling software, and navigating complex permitting and interconnection processes is highly desirable.
