Why join us? The CMA Insurance team is seeking to appoint an experienced Claims Adjuster with a strong background in handling London Market Marine claims. You will work closely with your manager and colleagues to deliver a consistently high standard of claims handling, grounded in quality, integrity and professionalism. The role involves collaboration with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including underwriters, actuaries and finance teams, as well as building strong relationships with brokers and cedents. This role offers remote working, with occasional travel to a local office for client meetings or team collaboration as required.

Responsibilities

Day‑to‑day management of a portfolio of UK and International Marine claims across both London Market and Lloyd’s syndicate platforms, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving and settlement, in line with Global Claims Handling Guidelines, service standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure the company’s reserving philosophy is applied consistently, with reserves recorded in compliance with internal policies and protocols. Collaborate closely with Underwriting and Actuarial teams on claims‑related matters, including emerging issues, market trends, interpretation of reinsurance contract wording and adherence to service standards. Build and maintain effective working relationships with brokers and market peers. Monitor trends and developments within Marine claims and provide relevant updates to underwriters and actuaries. Remain up to date with legal and regulatory developments, including relevant case law, new and emerging precedents and legislative changes impacting the portfolio. Work collaboratively with members of the Global Claims team on shared claims and internal processes to ensure consistency and best practice across the business. What will help you succeed in this role? Essential Proven claims handling experience within the reinsurance industry. Demonstrable knowledge and experience across both UK and International London Market Marine claims. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to assess data and other business information, identify trends and draw well reasoned conclusions. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while independently managing a portfolio of claims. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including the use of basic formulas and pivot tables to manipulate and summarise data. Desirable Familiarity with Write Back, ECF2 and DOCOsoft systems. What we offer? We are committed to ensuring that each member of our team feels valued and duly rewarded during their time at DWF.
