Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Customer Service Representative to join our remote team. As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our Medicare population, responding to their inquiries, resolving their issues, and ensuring their needs are met. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our members receive the highest level of service, and you will be an integral part of our efforts to improve the overall experience of our members.

Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in activities related to the medical and psychological aspects of utilization and coordinated care
  • Making high-volume outbound calls to members assigned each day to provide support and answer their questions
  • Consistently updating an Excel spreadsheet with member assignments listed
  • Maintaining consistent communication with your supervisor to ensure that you are meeting your performance expectations
  • Documenting each phone call in Virtual Health to ensure that all interactions are accurately recorded
  • Meeting performance expectations, including making a high volume of outbound calls, achieving an engagement rate of 80% or more, and completing 600 members a month

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a managed care setting, medical office, or facility setting with demonstration of medical administration duties
  • Thorough knowledge of customer service, utilization review, or claims processing practices in a managed care environment
  • Operation of office equipment, including a personal computer
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Time management and organizational skills are a MUST
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Great Excel skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:

  • Experience working in a remote customer service environment
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
  • Experience working with Medicare population
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance expectations
