Organ Allocation Coordinator

Remote · USA Full-time New today

About the position About the Organ Allocation Coordinator The Organ Allocation Coordinator (OAC) contributes to maximizing organ utilization by managing the allocation process for organs, placement of all organs for research, and facilitating transportation of organs. In collaboration with the Organ Recovery Coordinator (ORC), Organ Donation Coordinator (ODC), and Advisor on Call (AOC), the OAC reviews the donor medical record to ensure completion and utilizes clinical judgement to determine organs which may be at risk of non-use and develop prevention strategies. Considered a subject matter expert in organ allocation, the OAC maintains a working knowledge of Donor Network of Arizona (DNA) and Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) policies. The OAC works collaboratively with external partners which may include a range of high-level professionals including transplant physicians and surgeons, transplant coordinators, researchers, and other OPO professionals.
