Commercial Production Roofing and Exteriors Estimator- Remote

Overview

We are a rapidly growing commercial roofing and exterior construction company seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. This fully remote role is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses deep technical expertise across multiple roofing and exterior construction systems. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, providing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management, project management, and the ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and suppliers. The Estimator will work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that all estimates align with project goals and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for commercial roofing and exterior construction projects, including shingles, TPO, modified bitumen, metal roofing, and other flat roofing systems.
• Estimate additional scopes such as vinyl siding, fiber cement siding (Hardie), wood deck construction, and balcony repairs.
• Analyze and interpret large plan sets, specifications, engineering reports, and architectural drawings to bid complex projects.
• Provide expert-level technical support to the internal team, advising on system details, installation methods, and manufacturers’ requirements for roofing and exterior systems.
• Bid projects that involve collaboration with consultants, building envelope specialists, and architects.
• Use The EDGE Estimating Software (required) and AccuLynx (preferred) to create comprehensive project bids.
• Lead internal discussions on project constructability and installation strategies, serving as a key technical resource.
• Manage deadlines effectively to support high-volume bidding activity in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

• 3–5+ years of professional experience estimating a full range of commercial roofing systems (shingles, TPO, modified bitumen, metal roofing, etc.).
• 3–5+ years working in a fast-paced commercial roofing company, with deep knowledge of sheet metal work, manufacturers’ installation details, and exterior system best practices.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience bidding projects involving siding, deck construction, and balcony work preferred.
• Proficient with The EDGE Estimating Software (required).
• Experience with AccuLynx Estimating Platform (preferred).
• Strong ability to read and interpret large-scale plan sets, specifications, engineering reports, and consultant documentation.
• Prior experience estimating building envelope, consultant-driven, and architecturally designed projects required.
• Exceptional organizational skills, technical knowledge, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting sales and production teams with technical insights and scope clarifications.
• Knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and roofing system warranties.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and manage priorities independently.
