About the Position Our Customer Engineering team is a unique blend of technical expertise and customer-centric approach. We don't just pitch products or handle complaints; we engineer solutions to provide better services to our customers. As a Full Stack Customer Engineer, you will be responsible for collaborating with our Customer Success team to resolve customer-reported issues efficiently. Your daily tasks will involve monitoring internal systems, providing technical support, analyzing logs, reproducing customer-reported issues, debugging, implementing solutions, modifying code, and enhancing services. Responsibilities * Respond promptly to technical inquiries from the Customer Success team. * Investigate the mechanisms and causes of customer-reported issues. * Develop solutions or workarounds for technical challenges faced by customers. * Collaborate with the Engineering team to resolve complex issues through team efforts. * Contribute directly to the codebase, accelerating product and service improvements. * Share insights on product-related knowledge and commonly reported issues to support the Customer Success team. * Represent customers and partners, serving as a Voice of Customers, to drive feature requests and implementation. * Participate in incident processes, contributing to incident response. * Engage directly with customers as needed. Requirements * Strong passion for customer-facing work. * Enthusiasm for resolving real-world problems through technology and creativity. * Empathetic understanding of customer emotions, combined with logical thinking and detailed, unbiased observation. * Proficiency in at least one programming language and systematic debugging. * Specific understanding of HTTP, WWW, REST, SQL, logs, tracing, observability. * Openness to communicating in both English and Japanese. * Japanese language proficiency at the N2 level. Nice to Haves * Experience with payment systems. * Experience with applications involving payments, either professionally or as a hobby. * Experience in the following areas: + Ruby and Ruby on Rails + Datadog + Shopify + PHP + TypeScript + Amazon Web Services + Docker * Experience in debugging complex software and proposing code changes. * Experience in experimental-based research, either professionally, as a hobby, or academically. * CEFR B1 level English skills. * Interest in foreign languages and cultures, with a desire for continuous learning.
