This is a temporary position for the 2023-2024 school year supporting students in need of additional support that are served in our Academic Resource Center learning support program. The successful candidate will have experience working with high school students and has sufficient math background to assist students and the classroom teacher with the curriculum. • Prefer B.A. (or higher) in related field.
• Preference will be given to candidates with successful tutoring or teaching experience working with high school students.
• Preference will be given to candidates with background in mathematics and / or working with diverse learners.

Salary/Benefits: Compensation is $50 / class period (sub-rate of pay at AMHS). As a part-time position, this role is not eligible for benefits. Qualified substitute teachers could also potentially substitute teach during other class periods at AMHS, if interested. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Part-Time Math Support / Paraprofessional (temporary position)

• Provide assistance in a Modified Math / Pre-Algebra classroom 2-3 times a week (rotating schedule). Hours will generally be 9:30-11:00 a.m. every other day.
• Ability to adapt into a classroom setting and taking the lead of the teacher, while offering generalsupport the students and teachers as well as individual support to students with special needs.
• This may include helping students with general studying / review, beginning assignments, reviewing key concepts, and accessing classroom resources.
• Must enjoy working with high school students and be committed to helping students develop mathematic skills.
