[Remote] Claims Administrator

They are seeking a Claims Administrator to support the Claims Department with key administrative tasks and develop claims handling skills while managing new claim files and ensuring an efficient claims process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the intake, setup, and documentation of new claims for various lines of business
  • Review policy wordings to conduct a preliminary coverage assessment for new claim files
  • Develop multi-line claims handling abilities though active claims handling
  • Generate claims related reports to assist with identifying key trends for various departments, stakeholders, and regulators
  • Communicate with both internal and external claims examiners, accounting team members, underwriters, insureds, and/or broker partners
  • Maintain and update claims data on a regular basis to ensure data integrity
  • Reconcile financial transactions for various lines of business on a regular basis, including claims payments and reimbursements
  • Oversee deductible recovery to ensure efficient collection of recovery payments
  • Assist with internal and external claims audits, as required
  • Support the Claims Department with various administrative projects, as required

Skills

  • Interest in starting a career within the insurance industry, with a focus on claims and litigation
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to effectively and efficiently review contracts, case law, new claims details, expert reports, and more
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and similar applications
  • Desire to perform in a support role
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflows efficiently
  • Ability to perform defined tasks effectively without significant oversight
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
