ARRCC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist to join our technical delivery team. This role is ideal for a detail-driven, self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, design-led environment and takes pride in producing coordinated, buildable architectural documentation of the highest standard.

Working closely with Architects and Design Teams, you will take technical ownership of drawing packages across a range of project scales and complexities, from early design development through to delivery.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Technical Delivery & Documentation

  • Produce high-quality Revit-based technical drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, details and 3D views for client presentations and internal reviews.
  • Take ownership of assigned documentation packages during Design Development, ensuring accuracy, completeness and issue readiness.
  • Plan, sequence and track documentation tasks against programme milestones.
  • Resolve detailing, junctions and constructability matters within approved design intent.
  • Manage Design Guardianship throughout relevant project stages.

Coordination & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Architects, Designers, BIM teams, SAOTA teams and external consultants on shared Revit models.
  • Lead discipline-level technical coordination (e.g. joinery, lighting, ceilings, wet areas) from a constructability perspective.
  • Import, convert and manage CAD information into usable, coordinated formats.
  • Work effectively within structured document management systems and uphold ARRCC standards.

Standards, Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ARRCC systems, naming conventions, standards and procedures.
  • Contribute proactively to improving templates, libraries, workflows and documentation systems.
  • Participate in EXCO-aligned technology and production initiatives.
  • Identify and share innovative ways to improve current systems and processes.

Mentorship & Oversight

  • Act as a technical mentor to junior staff through structured model reviews and hands-on Revit guidance.
  • Provide supervisory and technical oversight without assuming staff performance or commercial responsibility.
  • Review technical requirements and report management risks on projects when identified.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Tech in Architectural Technology
  • Minimum 5+ years’ professional experience
  • Strong project experience across multiple project types
  • Proven experience in Stages 1–4 and Design Guardianship
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Ability to understand and compile Final Design Development (FDD) documentation
  • Experience working in complex, multicultural team environments
  • Site experience (advantageous)

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Methodical, accurate and exceptionally detail-oriented
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Confident, clear thinker with good professional judgement
  • Proactive, self-motivated and accountable
  • Calm under pressure and comfortable with tight deadlines
  • Collaborative and easy to work with at all levels
  • Professional, flexible and resourceful
  • Enthusiastic about continuous learning and personal growth

Additional Requirements

  • Submission of most recent CV
  • Submission of a recent, relevant portfolio of work
  • Willingness to work additional hours when required (including occasional weekends)

Why Join ARRCC

At ARRCC, you’ll work on high-end, design-driven projects within a collaborative studio culture that values technical excellence, innovation and professional growth. This role offers the opportunity to take real ownership of technical outcomes while contributing to some of the most exciting architectural work being produced in South Africa and beyond.
