Position Overview We require a developer to serve as a Cerner Millennium CCL and Data Transformation Lead supporting large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) migration and modernization initiatives. General Responsibilities:
  • Understand business objectives and operational problems.
  • Identify alternative solutions and perform studies and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and workflows to improve or automate systems.
  • Confer with organizational units to analyze current operations and identify issues.
  • Document detailed user needs, functional requirements, and program specifications.
  • Evaluate system capabilities, limitations, and the feasibility of requested changes.
Key Responsibilities / Description of Services:Perform services including, but not limited to, the following:
  1. Assess, analyze, and document clinical workflows across inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary care settings.
  2. Translate clinical and operational requirements into technical specifications for data extraction, reporting, and analytics.
  3. Design, develop, test, optimize, and maintain Cerner Command Language (CCL) scripts within Cerner Millennium environments.
  4. Perform complex data extraction, validation, and reconciliation from Cerner Millennium Oracle schemas.
  5. Support enterprise-wide EHR data migration, reporting, and legacy system retirement initiatives.
  6. Develop and support structured data feeds, flat-file extracts, and ETL processes.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve CCL performance issues and downstream data integration/reporting challenges.
  8. Serve as a liaison between clinical informatics stakeholders and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of clinical intent.
  9. Communicate data limitations, technical constraints, and system dependencies to non-technical stakeholders.
  10. Execute and tune CCL scripts, manage batch jobs, and support production and non-production environments in accordance with HHSC standards.
Minimum Required Skills & Experience:
  • 12+ years
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting Cerner Millennium production environments
  • Experience serving as a Senior Cerner Consultant or Technical Lead
