What’s the role?

As a Solutions Engineer, you will be a key member of the Dynatrace sales engine and will be responsible for providing high‑quality technical support to customers and internal teams across North America.

This is for individuals either early in or starting their Solutions Engineering career and align with the Solutions Engineer profile who are motivated to grow into the full scope, expectations, and impact of the role through hands‑on experience and mentorship. Prior experience in a sales or pre‑sales role is not required, but curiosity, strong technical fundamentals, and the ability to communicate clearly with customers are essential.

In this role, you will partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver compelling demonstrations, support technical evaluations, and help customers understand Dynatrace’s unique approach to advanced observability and application performance.

This is a fully remote role, with optional hybrid office access for those who prefer a mix of remote and in‑office work.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical expert on the Dynatrace platform, supporting customer engagements across discovery, evaluation, and solution design
  • Execute and support live and remote product demonstrations that highlight Dynatrace’s differentiated value
  • Provide technical guidance in the Discovery, Solution Evaluation, and Solution Proposal stages of the opportunity sales cycle.
  • Participate in and support proof‑of‑concept (PoC) engagements, working closely with customers and internal teams
  • Partner with a large Sales team to identify and support new sales opportunities and expansions within existing accounts
  • Assist with RFIs, RFPs, and technical documentation, learning how potential clients evaluate solutions
  • Build strong technical relationships with customers and prospects, positioning Dynatrace as a trusted partner
  • Gather, qualify and provide feedback from customers to Product Management to improve Dynatrace’s market share and meet the market needs.
  • Collaborate across teams including Product, Engineering, Expert Services, Customer Success, and Marketing
  • Build best practices and share knowledge the team to continuously develop and enhance both your personal and team capabilities.
  • Create and modify Dynatrace template presentations, in order to attend the specific demands of each customer.
  • Continuously develop technical, presentation, and customer‑facing skills through structured enablement and mentorship
  • Position might be filled at a higher level based on candidate experience.

About you

To ensure your success as a Solutions Engineer at Dynatrace, you are an ambitious, motivated, and coachable individual with a strong interest in modern cloud technologies and customer‑facing technical work.

You do not need prior Solutions Engineering or sales experience to succeed in this role. Instead, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate technical aptitude, strong communication skills, and a desire to grow into a trusted technical advisor.

Location: Preference given to individuals currently living in PST

What will help you succeed

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues to produce a working outcome and be able to manage and document this process.
  • Fundamental understanding and experience with command line interfaces; bash, powershell, etc
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical value into business value.
  • Interest in application performance, observability, cloud platforms, or distributed systems
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and technical curiosity
  • The ability to learn quickly, adapt to an evolving environment, and incorporate feedback
  • Comfort supporting multiple customer engagements with guidance from experienced teammates

Preferred requirements

  • Exposure to observability, monitoring, APM, or logging tools
  • Experience developing or maintaining application code or infrastructure
  • A foundational understanding of software systems, infrastructure, cloud, or DevOps concepts
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or scripting languages
  • Previous experience working as part of a sales, pre‑sales, or customer‑facing technical team

Compensation and Rewards

  • The base salary range for this role is $72,000- $90,000. When determining your salary, we consider your experience, skills, education, and work location.
  • Our total compensation package includes unlimited personal time off, an employee stock purchase plan, and a reward system.
  • We also offer medical/dental benefits, and a company matching 401(k) plan for retirement.
