Underwriting Associate - Entry Level
biBerk Business Insurance is a rapidly expanding company under Berkshire Hathaway, looking to hire an Underwriting Associate in their Commercial Underwriting Unit. This role provides an opportunity to learn about evaluating risks for various insurance policies for small businesses.
Responsibilities
- Utilize company underwriting criteria to evaluate risks for various lines of business
- Perform independent verification of insured's operations
- Review and process change requests on in-force policies
- Evaluate in-force policies at renewal
- Participate in Underwriting Training for new products, directives, and processes
- Participate in projects as assigned

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Adaptability in a constantly changing environment, including changes to technology, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory conditions
- Bachelor's degree + strong score on the Wonderlic test, a cognitive abilities assessment used to measure the cognitive ability and problem-solving aptitude of prospective employees
- Prior experience in Underwriting a plus, but not required
