Regional Vice President, Mid-Large Segment (Pacific)

The Regional Vice President, Retirement Sales (Pacific) is an external wholesaling role responsible for driving core market retirement plan sales across Washington, Oregon, Nevada and California, supporting plans from start‑up through $30M in assets. Working closely with financial advisors and third‑party administrators, this role distributes John Hancock Signature and Enterprise products while delivering consultative, ERISA‑focused sales support. This opportunity offers meaningful impact, strong partnership across internal teams, and the ability to grow advisor relationships while contributing to John Hancock’s mission of helping people secure better financial futures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow retirement plan sales in the Pacific territory, focusing on core market plans from start‑up through $30M in assets

  • Provide consultative, proactive sales support to financial advisors, consultants, and third‑party administrators, including ERISA and plan design expertise

  • Demonstrate deep proficiency in John Hancock RPS products, service models, ancillary benefits, and competitor offerings

  • Collaborate with internal partners including RVPs, sales desks, SRMs, DVPs, National Accounts, SMEs, Operations, Implementation, Marketing, and Communications

  • Participate in RFP preparation and the full sales preparation process, including prospect analysis, plan design recommendations, and presentation delivery

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years of industry experience in retirement plans or financial services

  • 3+ years of proven experience in external retirement plan sales, ERISA consulting, communications, operations, or implementation

  • Active and maintained relevant licenses (Life/Health, Series 6, or equivalent)

  • Ability to travel up to 80%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of ERISA regulations, qualified plan design, and current legal developments

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated team‑selling capability and ability to influence across cross‑functional teams

  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret plan documents, SPDs, and related materials

  • Experience supporting advisors, consultants, plan sponsors, committees, and DCIO partners

Salary range is expected to be between

$100,000.00 USD - $175,000.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
