Job Description

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Informatics Change Management Lead to join our team, supporting the Integrated Healthcare Transformation (IHT) initiative at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) in the adoption of new systems, workflows, and interoperability solutions across VHA facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead for planning, coordinating, and executing organizational change management strategies for clinical informatics initiatives.
  • Ensures smooth adoption of new systems, workflows, and interoperability solutions across VHA facilities.
  • Develops communication plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, and training programs aligned with Agile delivery and clinical safety standards
  • Conduct program reviews to assess the quality and effectiveness of current and future VHA healthcare programs.
  • Measure program success, outcomes, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in executing program operations to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Identify and assess program resources to support strategic planning and execution.
  • Develop and contribute to program reports, briefings, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with VHA leadership and cross-functional teams to align program goals with Veteran healthcare needs.
  • Preforming stakeholder engagement, training, and transition planning in Agile integration and interoperability rollouts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in informatics, healthcare administration, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in change management or organizational development roles within healthcare or federal health IT programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing change strategies for clinical informatics systems, EHR transitions, or interoperability projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile environments (e.g. supporting PI planning, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder readiness).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Prosci or OCM frameworks (ADKAR model).
  • Demonstrated expertise in communication and training development for clinical and technical audience.
  • Familiarity with VA VISTA/CPRS, Oracle Health, and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting performance assessments and improvement planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing reports and engaging stakeholders.
  • MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in health informatics, organizational leadership, project management, or related discipline.
  • Prosci Change Management Certification; CSM or SAFe practitioner; Healthcare IT or Clinical Informatics certification.
  • Proven experience in a large-scale integrated healthcare system.
  • Experience supporting federal healthcare initiatives, especially within the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Eligibility

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role

Compensation

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Salary range: $135,000 - $185,000
