Title: Library Associate (Part Time) Location: Cedar Rapids United States Job Description: To advance the college's mission, vision, principles, values and strategic initiatives through continuous improvement decisions. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the Library Assistant will assist library users, staff the circulation desk, and maintain an environment conducive to study. This role requires a working knowledge of library terminology, the ability to make minor decisions, and a collaborative approach to working with library staff. This position primarily works daytime (Monday-Friday) schedule, with one scheduled evening shift per week; occasional weekend or late-night shifts may be available. Assist patrons in locating and using resources, services, and technology (printers, photocopiers, scanners, software, and hardware). Assist with course reserves, interlibrary loan, and collection maintenance. Assist with the inventory of equipment and library materials. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and productive study environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Provide service in a courteous, prompt, and efficient manner. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Two years of relevant work experience and/or post-secondary education equivalent to two years of full-time experience, or an associate degree in a related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS: Work experience in a library setting.
