Strategy and Planning Manager

The Role The Strategy & Planning team, part of Block's Business Operations function, helps set the company's strategic direction and builds the systems, processes, and rhythms that drive operational excellence. We partner closely with senior leadership to translate complex goals into coordinated action, enabling Block to scale and execute its mission of economic empowerment. As an Individual Contributor on the Strategy & Planning team, you will support strategic planning efforts, contribute to operating rhythms, and work with partners across the company to deliver insights that inform leadership decisions. You Will

• Support and contribute to Block's strategic planning and goal-setting processes, partnering with senior team members to ensure effective execution
• Help develop and maintain tools, resources, and processes that support company-wide operating rhythms (e.g., business reviews, exec meetings, board updates, all-hands)
• Leverage AI to automate company-wide processes, such as annual strategic planning, strategic priority updates, and Board of Directors documentation prep
• Partner with cross-functional teams across Finance, Strategy, Biz Ops, People, and Product on critical ad hoc projects
• Conduct data analyses and develop frameworks that inform strategic planning, roadmap prioritization, and resource allocation decisions
• Assist in the creation of clear communications that convey Block's strategy, business performance, risks, and opportunities to leadership and employees

You Have

• 4-6+ years of experience in corporate strategy, business operations, or consulting roles, ideally within cross-functional or fast-growing environments (Investment Banking / Corporate Finance experience welcome, but not sufficient on its own)
• Experience contributing to strategic planning, roadmap prioritization, or resource allocation processes, with growing ownership of defined workstreams or initiatives
• Familiarity with using AI tools or automation to improve analysis, workflows, or productivity, with interest in expanding these capabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners and leaders, using data and structured thinking to support alignment and decision-making
• Strong analytical skills(SQL, Excel) with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, structured insights
• Demonstrated knowledge and curiosity about Block's products, ecosystem, and mission of economic empowerment

U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
