Job Summary As a Mail Distribution Clerk with USPS, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of mail. Your duties will include: Selling stamps and other postal products Receiving and processing incoming mail Sorting and distributing mail to its intended destination Performing various clerical functions, such as data entry and paperwork management Assisting customers with general postal needs, including redirecting mail and holding deliveries Key Responsibilities As a Mail Distribution Clerk, you will be expected to: Manage incoming mail delivery with priority-driven organizational strategies Prioritize mail by level of importance before forwarding it to its intended destination Perform administrative tasks, such as overseeing paperwork or performing data entry Interact with customers on behalf of the Post Office, helping them complete change-of-address forms or managing their mail holds temporarily while they're away Handle containers for mail and equipment associated with it Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must: Be a U.S. citizen Be at least 18 years of age Possess a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including communication, organization, and time management Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively Have excellent customer service skills and be able to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in a mail distribution or customer service environment Familiarity with postal regulations and procedures Ability to work in a remote environment with minimal supervision What We Offer As a valued member of the USPS team, you can expect: A competitive salary range of $23.47 to $38.62 per hour A mean salary of $72,400 per annum, including various job perks Comprehensive benefits, including vacation time, health insurance, and retirement savings Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth A dynamic and supportive work environment that fosters collaboration and innovation Why Join USPS?
