Informa is a leading academic publishing company, and they are seeking an entry level full-time Production Editor to work on their diverse list of academic journals. The role focuses on project management responsibilities and requires effective communication skills to manage the production journey of journals from acceptance to publication.

Responsibilities

  • Guide content through the entire production journey—from initial acceptance all the way to online and print publication
  • Regularly monitor your portfolio of titles, ensuring that they run on optimized workflows and meet department publication metrics
  • Oversee a group of assigned vendor-managed journals, which includes monitoring journal health, publication schedules, and providing support and guidance to the vendor project managers
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Communicate effectively with authors, Editors-in-Chief, and various internal departments
  • Assist and lead on local and global department projects as required

Skills

  • Professional, relevant, or relatable experience
  • Excellent organization skills and confidence in completing multiple tasks to deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, oral and written
  • A strong command of English grammar and academic styles
  • Ability to successfully thrive in a fast, process-driven workflow
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, content management, and/or customer relationship management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, accurate, and a problem-solver
  • Adaptability and grace under pressure
