Plaintiff Mass Torts Staff Attorney
Kershaw Talley Barlow is a nationally recognized plaintiff-side litigation firm based in Sacramento. They are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Attorney to manage mass tort matters, focusing on client management in complex litigation without traditional litigation responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the merits of potential mass tort and product liability cases
- Manage an active litigation docket with cases at various stages of development
- Conduct client intake and maintain consistent client communication
- Draft plaintiff fact sheets, claim submissions, correspondence, and reports
- Review, organize, and analyze medical records and other case documentation
- Prepare detailed case evaluations, damages analyses, and settlement recommendations
- Perform legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and discovery materials
- Maintain docket calendars and ensure deadlines are met
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, intake specialists, and staff
- Manage and direct an assigned intake or support team, as applicable
- Interface with clients, client representatives, and experts
- Participate in firm-wide case strategy and team collaboration
Skills
- JD from an accredited law school
- At least one year of litigation experience, preferably in mass torts, product liability, warranty defense, insurance defense, or complex civil litigation
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to accurately assess legal risk and calculate damages and settlement options
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume docket with minimal supervision
- Team-oriented mindset combined with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Willingness to travel periodically for case related support as needed
- Active California bar license and good standing
- Qualified candidates licensed in other states may be considered
