Research and obtain missing prescription information, interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes), and resolve data entry-related exceptions. Handle correspondence with patients (inbound calls, chats, emails) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients on a case-by-case basis. Resolve third-party rejects by researching, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual claim requirements. Provide support to pharmacists, both in-office and at other locations, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as needed. Obtain and maintain an active certification or licensure within the first 90 days of employment and keep it active throughout your tenure.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Basic level PC skills, including launching and shutting down a PC, using a mouse to point and click, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and accessing data online. Basic web browsing skills, including opening a browser, typing in URLs, using a search engine, bookmarking a webpage, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms. Intermediate level keyboarding skills, with a minimum typing speed of 25 WPM, typing by memory, and formatting documents. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications will give you a competitive edge: At least one year of pharmacy specialist experience in a retail or call center environment. Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction. Intermediate to advanced level keyboarding skills, with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM. Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
